Fraudsters Like Free Wi-Fi!

Do you know why?

Because fraudsters can easily access your communication and compromise your devices!

Here's why and how:

🕵️‍♂️ Free Wi-Fi often lacks proper security, making it easy for fraudsters to intercept and see what you are doing on the internet.

📡 Hackers can place themselves between you and the internet to steal sensitive information like your login credentials to Internet banking.

🎭 Sometimes, they set up free Wi-Fi networks with familiar names (coffee shops, restaurants) to trick you into connecting to theirs.

🔗 Cybercriminals can re-route your browser to malicious websites or ULRs with malware.

🎯 While they are listening to your communication, they can capture the connection details and hijack your active sessions to access your accounts.

🤷 Many people are still unaware of the risks and are easy prey.

If you use free/public Wi-Fi:

⏩ Ensure your connection uses HTTPS – look for “https://” and the padlock icon in the browser address bar. This encrypts data between your browser and the website.

⏩ If HTTPS is not available or you're unsure of network integrity, use a reputable VPN to encrypt all your device’s internet traffic.

⏩ Without HTTPS or a VPN, avoid online banking, email, entering personal information, or accessing any system that requires login credentials, as the traffic may be intercepted or manipulated.

🚨 Stay vigilant when using free/public Wi-Fi!
